Head over to Reynolds Industries Theater at Duke University for an evening full of modern dance, social networking, and fun! An array of activities are available throughout the evening – so come for some or come for all!
Here’s the deal:
Arrive at Reynolds Industries Theater at 7 pm to enjoy Wine Tasting Wednesday, a complimentary wine-tasting hosted by the ADF’s 2010 Official Wine Sponsor, Hope Valley Bottle Shop.
Then join us for a remarkable evening of modern dance at 8 pm.
Monica Bill Barnes & Company will present Another Parade and Kate Weare Company will present Bridge of Sighs on a shared program at the Reynolds Industries Theater.
Both companies will be participating in a free Post Performance Discussion immediately following the performance. Hear from the artists themselves and maybe ask a question or two!
The fun continues post-discussion at Six Plates Wine Bar (@SixPlates) where you can continue the conversation and enjoy oh-so-tasty complimentary appetizers (while supplies last). Six Plates also boasts a terrific wine and beer selection.

2010 ADF Block Party May 23, Peabody Place in Downton Durham
Join friends and neighbors for cheap eats from local vendors including Pop’s Backdoor, Locopops, and Parlez-Vous Crepes with music by DJ LeMoore. Enjoy nostalgic games and entertainment, a cash bar, and see video clips from the upcoming season. Members of Durham’s own African American Dance Ensemble will also share some music and dance with attendees. The event will be hosted by WRAL’s Erin Hartness.
Block Party attendees will receive 25% off any ADF ticket purchased that evening when they provide three non-perishable food items to support the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. There will be numerous free chances to win door prizes from local restaurants and retailers.
The ADF Block Party is a laid–back Sunday afternoon happening where folks can play, eat, soak up the sun and learn more about the 2010 ADF season, What is Dance Theater?. “ADF’s first Block Party in 2009 was a huge success and a ton of fun! We invite everyone to check out our new season—socialize and unwind with friends and family and take advantage of a really great ticket discount in exchange for supporting those in need,” said ADF Co-Director, Jodee Nimerichter.
