The scholarship money was a complete blessing
and
I am forever thankful
for your efforts
in
helping to make that happen.
–ADF Scholarship Student
The ADF School has been the heart of the Festival from the very beginning, and scholarship opportunities are invaluable to those who could not otherwise afford to take advantage of the rich learning experience offered by the ADF. With its comprehensive program of classes, workshops, performances, and special events, the ADF offers an integrated learning experience: a full spectrum of modern dance techniques and related areas, plus the opportunity to see rehearsals, demonstrations, and performances by both established companies and the brightest emerging talent. The ADF has a world-wide reputation for discovering and bringing deserved recognition to modern dance’s finest artists, and many of the most important names in the field, including Merce Cunningham, Paul Taylor, Alwin Nikolais, Anna Halprin, Trisha Brown, Lar Lubovitch, Meredith Monk, Martha Clarke, Lucinda Childs, and Doug Varone.
By providing scholarship support for deserving students, you can help ensure the future of modern dance by assisting and encouraging the artists of tomorrow.

Perennial Festival favorite Pilobolus will present an ADF commissioned World Premiere by Jonathan Wolken entitled Redline and an exciting new work (also an ADF commission) by Israeli choreographers Avshalom Pollak and Inbal Pinto. Back by popular demand is Pilobolus’ first collaboration with Pollak and Pinto, the 2007 ADF commissioned Rushes, a display of striking choreography complete with dancing chairs, which promises to be just as thrilling as its first incarnation at the ADF a couple of seasons ago. Rounding out the evening, Ocellus (1971) is a classic men’s quartet sure to evoke breathtaking memories of the company’s origins, and Walklyndon (1971), a colorful vaudeville romp that is pure Pilobolus to the core.
