BOX OFFICE MANAGER The 2008 position has been filled.
Directs all ticketing operations, processes all subscriptions, and supervises all single ticket orders through Patron’s Edge, computerized box office system. Will supervise an assistant and an intern; will also work with Duke University Box Office Staff. COSTUME DESIGNER The 2008 position has been filled.
The American Dance Festival seeks an individual to
design and construct costumes for 4 choreographers participating in ADF’s Past/Forward program and to assist with the costumes for Dairakudakan and the Hollins University/American Dance Festval MFA performances.
- Position begins June 5 and ends July 19, 2008

- Costume Designer will have access to Duke University’s Costume Shop, 2 part-time assistants, and 40 hours of assistance from Duke’s Costumer
- Will be able to take a class in the ADF Six Week School and receive one ticket to each company performance of the 2008 season

FOOD & HOUSING COORDINATOR The 2008 position has been filled.
Works closely with the Food and Housing intern and in conjunction with the School and Finance offices. The Food and Housing Office is responsible for planning and implementing receptions and parties and arranging all food and housing requests with Duke University for the ADF students and professionals throughout the festival. Requires ability to work well under pressure and handle concurrent, multiple tasks. Must be detail and customer-service oriented and have an interest in the arts. Entry-level summer position.

PHOTOGRAPHER The 2008 position has been filled.
The ADF is seeking a photographer for its 2008 Season (and potential seasons thereafter). This person will be available to work during the Festival, which runs from June 5-July 20 for the 2008 season. Candidate must have their own digital equipment and be available to work during day and evening hours. Some weekend hours may be required. Hours vary from week to week but average 25 hours per week. Candidate must have experience taking action shots and be comfortable shooting in dark light. Most post-production work will be done by ADF. Images must be provided digitally in correct size and format on a weekly basis. Quick turn around time on photos is essential for ADF publicity purposes. Events to be photographed, but not limited to, include dance company photo calls (during dress rehearsals in the theaters), faculty/students/musicians in class, award ceremonies, posed group photos, as well as other events that occur during the season. Prior experience with press photography and quick deadlines is a plus.

The American Dance Festival is a modern dance festival with a seven-week, 40-plus performance schedule. Available positions: Production Stage Manager, Technical Director, Master Carpenter, Master Electrician, Sound Technician and Costume Designer. Previous dance production experience preferred.

REGISTRAR & STUDENT SERVICES COORDINATOR The 2008 position has been filled.
Assists Director of School Administration & Student Affairs with much of the detailed work required to administer the ADF School, including processing applications and organizing student accounts. Also includes coordination of student mailings and billing statements, extensive data entry, telephone recruiting and other various administrative support. Requires strict attention to detail, ability to work well under pressure and a friendly and supportive phone manner. Must have computer experience, familiarity with database operations helpful. Knowledge of or experience with ADF is a plus.

SCHOOL OPERATIONS COORDINATOR The 2008 position has been filled.
Works closely with the school technical coordinator. With the School Office, the SOC coordinates the studio, equipment, transportation and technical needs for the entire ADF community of more than 500 students, teachers and professionals. SCHOOL TECHNICAL COORDINATOR The 2008 position has been filled.
This position is responsible for coordinating the technical needs for all performances/showings (i.e., student showings, repertory class showings, Up Close with the Artist series) associated with the ADF Schools and Workshops. The person in this position should be self-motivated and detail-oriented with the flexibility to perform last-minute tasks as necessary. Experience in dance production is required. Evening and weekend work required.

WFSS COORDINATOR unavailable
Along with the regular schedule of courses that happen on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, there are classes offered on Wednesdays, Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays (hence the name WFSS) that compliment the six-week schedule. The position is a part of the school office and will work closely with the Dean and the Director of School Administration & Student Affairs. Responsibilities include scheduling WFSS classes and coordinating logistics of the courses including (but not limited to) publicizing all updates, communicating with faculty members/guest artists and school operations, managing the WFSS Weekly Calendar, accurate financial tracking and reconciliation, and student registration. Additional responsibilities include reserving class space and arranging the details of the WFSS faculty and guest artists.
