This workshop will celebrate and teach about Ronald K. Brown’s breakout work Grace. Originally choreographed in 1999 for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, the work is now considered a masterpiece in the Ailey (1999) and Evidence (2004) repertories. The piece opens and ends with Duke Ellington’s Come Sunday and tells the physical story of people behaving as if they don’t understand God’s grace. During the workshop, participants will get to learn a modified section from Grace taught by Ronald K. Brown and Associate Artistic Director Arcell Cabuag.
