Toya Chinfloo is native of Newark, NJ. Toya was blessed to meet Baba Chuck Davis as a student of ADF during the summer of 1991. Upon her completion of her BFA at Montclair State University, Toya joined AADE in the winter of 1991 as a touring member performing nationally and internationally works created by Baba Chuck Davis, Mr. Mpongo, Titos Sompa, Ronald K.Brown, Mama Kariamu Welsh, Michelle Gibson, Sherone Price, and others. Mrs. Chinfloo holds a master’s degree in education from Lesley University and is a Dunham Technique Certification candidate. Toya Chinfloo has taught and presented works at Durham Arts Council and Charlotte Ballet Dance Festival and is currently the lead dance teacher for Durham Public Schools.
