Seeing and Being Seen: Technique as Composition w/ Jordan Lloyd & Jessie Young

Seeing and Being Seen: Technique as Composition invites dancers to explore the relationship between movement, space, and connection. This class focuses on the dynamic interplay of seeing, being seen, and holding space within a collective, treating movement as an offering shaped by lived experiences. Rooted in anatomy and embodiment, it balances restorative practices with expansive, athletic movement, creating a space where care and rigor coexist. Through improvisation, modular phrasing, and guided exploration, dancers are encouraged to bring their full histories, identities, and creative voices into the work. Together, we reimagine training as a practice of curiosity, generosity, and discovery.
