Program Requirements
All interested applications must meet one of the program criteria to participate in a workshop.
Creative Process
- 5 years of professional experience, with 3 of those years as a choreographer
- Undergraduate degree + 3 years as a professional choreographer
- Completed graduate or in-process degree + 3 years as a professional choreographer
Educators
- 5 years of professional experience, with 3 of those years as an educator
- Undergraduate degree + 3 years as a professional educator
- Completed graduate or in-process degree + 3 years as a professional educator
Physical Practice
- 5 years of professional experience in dance
- Undergraduate dance degree + 3 years of professional experience
- Completed graduate or in-process degree
DPW students receive
- Immersion in daily classes and dialogue with your workshop leader and ADF guest faculty, focusing on the creative process, pedagogy, or movement practices.
- Additional weekly drop-in classes
- 1 free ticket to all ADF performances during the one-week intensive
- Ability to reserve studio space for personal research, technical practice, or creative work
- Ability to receive Continuing Education Credits (CEU) for DPW attendance
- A chance to expand their professional community and exchange ideas with diverse artists

Dance educators replenish their creative and pedagogical capacities through community-building with fellow educators, focused classes that develop skills, and opportunities for engaging in the wide range of classes and performances ADF offers.
Schedule Includes:
- Technique class with pedagogical strategy and content labs
- Professional development discussions. Example topics: Assessment strategies, Creating inclusive classrooms and curricula
- Focused sessions on teaching aspects. Example topics: Working with a musician, Constructing a rich/diverse class playlist
- Summer Dance Intensive classes of your choosing

Physical Practice with Netta Yerushalmy & ADF Faculty
July 20–26, 2025
Experienced professionals cultivate and expand their physical practice through mornings filled with a mix of movement styles and techniques offered by a variety of ADF faculty, and afternoons led by Netta Yerushalmy, that will focus on active creative practices and play, and lead to rep building and full physical exploration.
